We learn for Cyber!
The SOCCER team of the University of Tartu participated in the OCSC (Open Cyber Security Conference) held on 26.02-01.03.2024, which was organised by the OpenCSIRT Foundation (OCF) in close collaboration with TF-CSIRT and FIRST.
OCSC conference promoted cooperation between cyber security and incident management teams. It was a great place to exchange goals, ideas, and information on improving cyber hygiene and resilience on a global scale. The main areas of the OCSC were:
- Collaboration and Information sharing,
- AI and Machine Learning,
- Ransomware Resilience,
- Regulatory Compliance,
- Cloud Security Maturity.
The presence of the SOCCER team at the event was notably significant, marking the occasion with our initial in-person internal discussions to deliberate on the forthcoming steps and tackle the challenges within the SOCCER project. Representing AGH University was Izabela Albrycht, while Tartu University’s delegation included Tommy Tomson and Gular Samadova. Vaclav Bartos from CESNET was present. The team also featured Roman Senkerik and David Malanik from UTB Zlin, Pavol Sokol from UPJS, alongside Martin Laštovička, Martin Kovarik, Petr Velan, and Matus Racek representing Masaryk University.
For us, the highlight was Martin Laštovička’s opportunity to showcase the SOCCER project on behalf of the SOCCER consortium. He introduced it to an extensive audience of Cyber Security professionals during the Lightning Talks session.
The OCSC 2024 proved to be highly inspiring, providing us with numerous innovative ideas to incorporate into the SOCCER project.
The SOCCER project funded under Grant Agreement No. 101128073 is supported by the European Cybersecurity Competence Centre.
