Kubernetes is a workload and container orchestration and management tool, that is used by the HPC center to host services, webpages and other containerized non-HPC workflows. The Kubernetes cluster runs in an high-availability configuration on bare-metal physical nodes, inside the University of Tartu network and integrates with many of HPC center’s services to provide a secure, performant and up to date environment.
Kubernetes can be used by other University of Tartu users to also host their applications, in so called “managed Kubernetes” format, where users are given access to dedicated namespaces as namespace owners.
