LUMI (Large Unified Modern Infrastructure) is the pan-European pre-exascale supercomputer, located in CSC’s data center in Kajaani, Finland. LUMI’s computing power is more than 550 petaflops which means 550 quintillion calculations per second. Half of the LUMI resources belong to the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking. The other half belong to the LUMI consortium countries which include Finland, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Iceland, Norway, Poland, Sweden, and Switzerland.
Up to 20% of all LUMI resources are available to industry and SMEs to support their research, development and innovation activities and to boost the competitiveness of Europe. LUMI offers GPUs, CPUs and storage capacity for researchers affiliated with an Estonian higher-education or research institute as well as for commercial users from an organization established or located in Estonia.
